Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and support sound business decision-making for our Fairfield, New Jersey team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, strengthening reporting processes, and ensuring dependable controls across accounting activities. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage documentation and financial information with precision.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day accounting and financial control activities, ensuring records are complete, accurate, and prepared on schedule.
- Oversee the collection, organization, and maintenance of business and financial documentation to support compliance and reporting needs.
- Review, scan, and archive critical records in a structured manner so information can be retrieved efficiently when needed.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, identifying variances, trends, and areas that require management attention.
- Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes while reinforcing internal controls and documentation standards.
- Partner with leadership to improve administrative and financial workflows, including document handling and record retention practices.
- Support audits and internal reviews by compiling required materials and confirming that files are current and well organized.
- Prior experience in a Controller or senior-level accounting leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting controls, and record management practices.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, compile, scan, and maintain high volumes of documentation accurately.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Proficiency with standard accounting systems and digital document management tools.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work across departments to gather and validate information.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
