VP of Finance Schedule :
Monday-Friday Onsite Pay rate: $200,000-300,000
Location :
Farmingdale, NJ Position Summary The Vice President of Finance is responsible for leading the organization's financial strategy, planning, reporting, and risk management functions. This role provides strategic financial leadership to support business growth, profitability, operational excellence, and long-term organizational goals. The VP of Finance oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, accounting operations, cash management, and compliance while serving as a key advisor to executive leadership. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Reporting Oversee all accounting operations for the company's owned and managed residential communities. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages. Develop and maintain internal financial reporting for executive leadership and ownership. Prepare monthly financial reports, variance analyses, and operational performance summaries. Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process across all properties and departments. Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes. Manage general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and cash flow reporting. Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities for operational and financial improvement. Property & Operational Accounting Supervise all property accounting functions including tenant billing, rent collections, reserve tracking, and expense management. Partner with local management teams to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting. Oversee accounting related to renovations, capital projects, construction, and maintenance operations performed by in-house teams. Track capital expenditures and maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules. Support acquisition integration, refinancing activities, and portfolio growth initiatives. Process Improvement & Leadership Lead and improve company accounting processes, internal controls, and financial workflows to support continued growth and operational efficiency. Identify opportunities for automation, reporting enhancements, and system improvements. Collaborate cross-functionally with property management, construction, purchasing, and executive leadership teams to improve financial visibility and operational effectiveness. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members while fostering a collaborative and service-oriented culture. Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures across all entities and properties. Coordinate annual audits, lender reporting, and tax preparation activities. Ensure compliance with financing agreements and reporting obligations. Qualifications MBA degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA designation preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience within real estate, property management, or multi-family housing environments. Strong understanding of property accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. Experience working within vertically integrated real estate operations preferred. Experience with Rent Manager ERP/accounting software strongly preferred. Proficiency with accounting and property management systems such as Rent Manager, Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, RealPage, or similar platforms. Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with multiple priorities.
Pay:
$185,000.00 per year
