About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations for a production facility. This position serves as a key business partner to operations leadership, helping drive financial performance through cost analysis, budgeting, inventory management, and process improvements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing accounting, standard costing, and financial reporting, along with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Maintain and analyze standard costing, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing cost variances. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for plant operations. Monitor inventory valuation, physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and work-in-progress (WIP). Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. Manage the general ledger, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and month-end close. Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures. Support audits by coordinating with internal and external auditors. Review credit approvals, collections, accruals, and fixed asset accounting. Utilize ERP systems and advanced Excel to analyze financial data and support business decisions. Mentor and support accounting staff while promoting continuous process improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, standard costing, inventory accounting, and internal controls. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, IQMS, or similar. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across operations and finance. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
