Type:

full-time Controller - Film/Production Company Well-established Film & Production company is seeking a hands-on Controller, who will be responsible for the financial operations of a privately held creative production company and family office. Primary focus is cash management, forecasting, multi-entity accounting, payroll, and financial reporting, with responsibility for family office and property-related finances.

Responsibilities:

Own short- and long-term cash flow forecasting, daily cash management, and liquidity planning. Oversee multi-entity accounting, including AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. Manage production job costing, budgets, and variance analysis. Oversee payroll and HR administration, including domestic/household employees and multi-state compliance. Manage family office bill pay, personal expenses, property expenses, insurance, taxes, and capital projects. Manage banking, treasury, credit cards, and financial controls. Coordinate with outside CPAs, attorneys, wealth managers, insurance brokers, and other advisors. Maintain and improve accounting systems, controls, and processes. Oversee tax compliance and contract administration. Maintain strict confidentiality of family and business financial information.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 7+ years of progressive accounting/controllership experience within film/production, entertainment, family office/high net worth, real estate, or a similar industry. CPA a plus Strong experience with cash management, forecasting, and multi-entity accounting. Experience with basic HR functions, including payroll / multi-state compliance as well as onboarding. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and internal controls. Proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel. Experience working directly with leadership and outside advisors. Highly organized, detail-oriented, discreet, and able to work independently.
