Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to lead financial oversight for a manufacturing operation in Vineland, New Jersey. This role will guide plant-level accounting activities, deliver accurate cost analysis, and support business decisions through timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of manufacturing cost structures, standard costing, and month-end close processes, along with the ability to partner effectively with operations leadership.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead plant accounting activities by overseeing cost reporting, financial controls, and analysis tied to manufacturing performance.
  • Manage the month-end close process for the facility, ensuring financial results are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
  • Maintain and refine standard costing methods to improve visibility into product costs, inventory valuation, and production variances.
  • Analyze manufacturing expenses, labor, material usage, and overhead trends to identify risks and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Partner with plant leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making with clear financial insights.
  • Review inventory-related transactions and reconciliations to help ensure reliable records and strong internal controls.
  • Investigate cost variances and communicate findings with actionable recommendations to operational and finance stakeholders.
  • Support process improvements within plant finance activities, including accounting procedures and reporting workflows when needed. Requirements
  • Proven experience in plant or manufacturing finance with a strong background in cost accounting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting principles, including standard costing and variance analysis.
  • Hands-on experience managing month-end close activities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and translate findings into practical business recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
