Assistant Controller PRCLWorld - Corp Full-Time, Salaried Position Hybrid for Las Vegas Residents Pacific Time Business Hours $80,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on education, experience, etc. Overview The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing the Finance and Accounting team and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. This role oversees daily accounting operations, the month-end close process, financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives while providing guidance and backup across AP, AR, and payroll functions. What We Offer A collaborative finance team that values accuracy and accountability Opportunities to grow in financial operations, reporting, and system fluency Remote-first culture with strong support and optional hybrid collaboration Exposure to cross-functional teams and operational processes Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401k with company match Mental health support program Accrued paid time off and paid holidays Same day pay program Phone stipend if applicable Key Responsibilities Leadership & Close Oversight Directly supervise and develop two Staff Accountants while supporting the Controller in coordinating broader Finance team operations Oversee the full month-end close cycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency Identify close bottlenecks and step in as needed to maintain deadlines Review Staff Accountant work, including reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activity General Accounting & Financial Reporting Perform or oversee key month-end tasks including reconciliations, depreciation, accruals, estimates, and lease accounting (ASC 842) Prepare and review journal entries with appropriate support and accurate classification Conduct GL reviews and analyze balance sheet and P&L activity to ensure completeness and accuracy Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts Prepare and review month-end financial statements and management presentations Consolidate combined financial statements across entities in alignment with GAAP Financial Analysis & Working Capital Perform variance analysis on actual vs. budget and forecast results, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reviews and management discussions Oversee or perform bank reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and other cash-related activities Support working capital and cash reporting processes, including generation of reports for financial partners and leadership Support lender reporting and credit line compliance Controls, Compliance & Risk Ensure adherence to internal policies including procurement, expense, and vendor management Maintain documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, and vendor activity Support audit requests and ensure readiness for external and internal reviews Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal accounting standards, and federal, state, and local regulations Support or coordinate compliance tasks including sales tax, property tax, business licenses, and related filings Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures Operational Continuity & Systems Serve as backup for AP, AR, payroll, and other accounting functions as needed Support AP in preparing annual 1099s and vendor-related inquiries Identify and implement process improvements to shorten close timelines, improve accuracy, and strengthen internal controls Support automation initiatives and system enhancements within accounting and reporting tools Act as liaison between Accounting and IT for system updates, data integrity, and reporting optimization Planning & Corporate Support Contribute to annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting activities Coordinate corporate-level tasks such as registrations, insurances, audits, and tax documentation Perform daily and ad hoc accounting functions related to ongoing business operations Respond to information requests and provide cross-departmental support Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business from an accredited college or university 2 years accounting experience Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures; knowledge of US GAAP a plus Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, Pivot Tables, etc.) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks or Dynamics a plus) Highly organized with strong time management, project management, and follow-through skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Professional, tactful, and collaborative with strong cross-functional relationship skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a strong sense of ownership Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment Resourceful and adaptable in a changing environment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision High level of confidentiality and integrity Continuous improvement mindset Mindset & Work Style Takes ownership of tasks and follows through without reminders Proactively identifies issues and raises them early with recommendations Curious and engaged in learning new Excel skills, systems, and technologies Interested in professional development and participates in company-supported learning activities Looks for opportunities to streamline processes and improve workflows Understands how systems connect and how data accuracy impacts billing, payments, revenue, and reporting Respects timing dependencies between systems and order of operations required for accurate billing Communicates clearly and thoroughly rather than surface-level updates Balances recurring responsibilities with shifting priorities Open to feedback, system changes, and continuous improvement Maintains professionalism during busy periods or escalated issues Interview Process Expect a screening call, an initial interview with the Controller, a second interview with the CFO and Controller including a skills assessment, and an offer if selected.
