Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Controller is responsible for leading the organization's accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and efficient day-to-day accounting processes. This role oversees general accounting functions, manages monthly and annual close processes, supports strategic planning through budgeting and forecasting, and partners with leadership to drive sound financial decision-making. The Controller serves as a key resource to executive management by providing timely financial analysis, operational insight, and fiscal oversight. A bonus will be offered in this role for achieving performance goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Oversee and maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial records within QuickBooks or other accounting systems Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Prepare and present monthly internal financial reports, dashboards, and management reporting packages Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, and applicable regulations Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide recommendations to leadership Monitor daily cash activity, banking transactions, and cash flow forecasting Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable and payroll processes Lead annual budgeting process and prepare rolling forecasts Establish, maintain, and improve internal accounting controls and procedures Coordinate year-end a schedule for tax professionals Manage and mentor accounting staff Collaborate with operations, and executive leadership Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required CPA preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and accounting systems Advanced knowledge of financial reporting Advanced Excel skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Responsibilities Lead all day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and reconciliations Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, dashboards, and key performance metrics Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and liquidity needs while developing short- and long-term forecasts Oversee budgeting processes and partner with department leaders on annual plans and expense management Analyze financial performance, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions or opportunities for growth Strengthening internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance practices across the organization Coordinate external tax filings, and year-end reporting requirements Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members while fostering accountability and high performance Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic planning, investments, and operational decisions Identify opportunities to improve systems, automate workflows, and increase efficiency Ensure all financial records are accurate and organized Work Enviorment This position is based on a dynamic, open-concept office setting, which may include loud noise The role involves frequent use of a computer, phone, and other office equipment
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
