Chris Preble from Robert Half is looking for a Controller to lead core accounting and financial oversight for a manufacturing operation in Binghamton, New York. This role has a bonus and really good benefits with opportunity for growth.

This is a hands-on leadership position combining traditional Controller responsibilities with financial planning, analysis and strategic business partnership.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation along with the ability to work closely with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and overall business performance. This person will lead a small accounting and finance team while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day work of the department.

Responsibilities:

Lead the accounting and finance function, including general accounting, financial reporting, AP, AR and related activitiesOversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processesManage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activitiesAnalyze financial and operational performance, including profitability, costs, trends and variancesProvide financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadershipMaintain strong internal controls, accounting policies and financial proceduresSupport cost accounting and manufacturing-related financial analysisPartner with operational leaders to improve financial visibility and business performanceIdentify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, systems and automationLead, mentor and develop members of the accounting and finance teamSupport external audits and other financial compliance requirementsParticipate in special projects and strategic initiatives as needed
