CONSTRUCTION

CONTROLLER, Garden City, Long Island, NY Anna Parson at Robert Half is partnering with a growing, multi-entity large construction client seeking an experienced Construction Controller that has worked in organizations with revenue of $100M+ to lead consolidated, multi entity financial reporting, project accounting, and operational accounting & finance. The Construction Controller will oversee the consolidated, audited financial reporting of multiple operating entities and is ideal for a construction finance leader with experience supporting organizations generating $100M+ in annual revenue. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who combines strong controllership and leadership skills with a deep understanding of construction project economics, WIP reporting, and long-term project profitability. As the Construction Controller you will:

+ Lead the monthly close process, general ledger activities, and consolidated financial reporting for multiple operating entities

+ Prepare and review financial statements while serving as the primary liaison to auditors, banks, and sureties

+ Oversee WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, cost-to-complete forecasting, and project profitability analysis

+ Partner closely with estimators, project managers, superintendents, and field personnel to review project estimates, budgets, forecasts, and job performance

+ Analyze gain/fade trends, labor productivity, equipment utilization, and project forecasts to identify risks and opportunities

+ Manage surety, bonding, banking, and cash reporting requirements

+ Develop meaningful management reporting focused on backlog, project performance, forecasted profitability, and key operating metrics

+ Drive process improvements and lead ERP implementation, integration, and optimization initiatives What We're Looking for in the

+ Controller, Director of Finance, or lead accounting and finance professional experience within the construction industry

+ Experience supporting organizations with $100M+ in annual revenue

+ Strong background in multi-entity and consolidated financial reporting

+ Extensive experience with WIP reporting, project accounting, percentage-of-completion accounting, and cost forecasting

+ Experience working with auditors, banks, and sureties

+ Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights

+ Proven leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
