Ownership About Us Hotspot Cell Inc. is a growing wireless phone retailer committed to providing top-tier products and customer service. As we continue to expand, we're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Controller to take ownership of our day-to-day finances and serve as a trusted financial advisor to leadership. Position Summary The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company's daily financial operations, serving as the primary point of contact with our outside CPA and accounting firm, and providing ownership with clear, actionable insight into the financial health of the business. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who is equally comfortable in the details of daily bookkeeping and cash flow, and in translating financial data into strategic recommendations for ownership. Key Responsibilities Monitor and manage daily financial transactions, cash flow, and account reconciliations across all store locations. Serve as the primary liaison between the company and our external CPA/accounting firm, ensuring accurate and timely information flow for tax preparation, audits, and financial statement reviews. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for ownership. Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and advise ownership on opportunities to improve profitability, reduce costs, and strengthen cash flow. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and internal controls. Support inventory and payroll-related financial tracking as needed. Present financial findings and recommendations to ownership in clear, non-technical terms. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required). 3+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management, ideally within wireless retail or a similar industry. Experience working directly with outside accounting firms or CPAs. Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (or similar accounting software) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn numbers into actionable advice. Strong communication skills and comfort presenting financial information to ownership. High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
