Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Jericho, New York. This role is pivotal in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of public and corporate accounting experience, strong people and process management skills and effective communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the company's financial statements, including preparation, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.
- Supervise and guide the accounting team to ensure efficiency and attention to detail in their development.
- Monitor and analyze general ledger activities to maintain accurate records and identify discrepancies.
- Oversee commission calculations and payments.
- Ensure timely and accurate scanning, compiling, and documentation of financial records.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and support organizational goals.
- Support both internal & external audits to assess financial practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Liaise with external auditors.
- Implement and maintain financial controls to safeguard company assets.
- Prepare detailed reports for stakeholders to support decision-making processes. Requirements
- Active CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing teams.
- Expertise in handling commissions and financial operations management.
- Proficient in general ledger, month close and financial reporting.
- Background in public accounting with a strong understanding of compliance standards.
- Proven ability to lead and manage staff effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.
