Job Description
Director of Finance Northpointe Council, Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director of Finance to oversee the organization's day-to-day financial operations and support the delivery of high-quality behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services. This is an in-office position The Director of Finance is responsible for the management of accounting operations, budgeting, financial reporting, payroll oversight, billing coordination, grant financial management, audit preparation, and related administrative functions. This position supervises finance department staff and works closely with organizational leadership to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness. Essential Responsibilities Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and fiscal management activities Prepare and monitor organizational and departmental budgets Produce timely and accurate financial reports for leadership, the Board of Directors, regulatory agencies, and funding sources Supervise finance department staff and support staff development and cross-training Ensure timely completion of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial reporting Coordinate annual audits and required financial filings and reports Review and monitor grant budgets, financial reporting, and compliance with funding requirements Oversee billing-related functions and collaborate with internal staff and external vendors as needed Maintain financial systems, internal controls, and accounting processes Serve as a member of the organization's leadership team and participate in organizational planning and decision-making Prepare and present financial reports, budget information, and fiscal analyses to organizational leadership, the Board of Directors, and Finance Committee May be required to work beyond normal business hours as necessary to meet organizational deadlines, audit requirements, reporting obligations, and other business needs Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting, finance, or fiscal management experience Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience Experience with nonprofit accounting, budgeting, grants management, audits, and government-funded programs preferred Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office applications, and nonprofit accounting software Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail Why Join Northpointe Council?
