Job Description
Overview We are seeking a detail-driven and strategic Assistant Controller to play a key role in our financial management operations. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between high-level financial strategy and day-to-day accounting operations. You will ensure the accuracy of financial records, and streamline processes for corporate accounting, audits, and resource allocation. Come join our team! (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients. LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston, Needham, MA and Edison, NJ. Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Close Management Oversee and streamline the month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and FAR. Manage day-to-day accounting operations. Process payroll and payroll reconciliations. Audit & Compliance Coordinate with external auditors to prepare annual audit schedules and tax documentation. Evaluate, update, and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks. Ensure financial records align with federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines. Team Leadership & System Management Supervise, train, and mentor junior accounting staff. Collaborate with the IT and project management teams to optimize the utilization of ERP/accounting software.
