Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our dynamic team in Woodbury, New York. This role is ideal for a finance expert with strong leadership capabilities and expertise in Oracle NetSuite. The Controller will oversee critical accounting operations, manage a skilled staff, and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting for multiple divisions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the month-end and trial close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Prepare and review journal entries and maintain the general ledger with precision and accuracy.
- Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations, ensuring efficient workflows.
- Perform bank account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices in all financial operations.
- Monitor and manage accrued liabilities and expenses as part of financial oversight.
- Collaborate with team members to prepare annual reports and other financial documentation.
- Mentor and supervise accounting staff, fostering growth and development.
- Utilize Oracle NetSuite to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency. Requirements
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar senior accounting role.
- Proficiency in Oracle NetSuite and other relevant financial systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including accruals and accounting theory.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Skilled in performing bank reconciliations and maintaining financial accuracy.
- Ability to prepare and analyze annual financial reports and ad hoc analyses.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
