Payroll Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Job Opening:
Controller / Finance Lead We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to manage the comprehensive operations of our Finance Department . This role oversees essential daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial activities to ensure fiscal accuracy and regulatory compliance. Salary is negotiable
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Financial Operations Cash Management:
Monitor bank accounts, track balances in Truist and Lighthouse Financial, and manage the bank line against cash projections.
Disbursements:
Handle daily disbursement requests and process cleared checks in VAI and Excel.
Ledger Maintenance:
Post daily journal entries, manage bank line activity in VAI, and reconcile credit memos.
Reporting:
Maintain and update the daily A/R Trade Report and Foreign Invoices worksheet for future payments.
Weekly & Monthly Obligations Bank Reporting:
Prepare and distribute weekly A/R Trade Reports for the board and bank.
Payroll Support:
Handle weekly P/R advance requests to Lighthouse.
Month-End Close:
Reconcile G/L accounts, bank statements, and advertising accruals.
Tax & Compliance:
Calculate and process payments for Ohio Sales Tax, BWC, and GST/HST for Canada Revenue.
Royalties:
Generate reports and execute royalty payments, specifically for Diehard records.
Quarterly & Annual Requirements Tax Filings:
Manage quarterly sales tax payments for states such as Washington and California.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare quarterly and annual financials, including the completion of bank covenants.
Audits:
Coordinate annual audits in February/March and facilitate periodic bank audits.
Strategic Planning:
Prepare the budget for the upcoming year and establish schedules for month-end cutoff dates and holidays.
Compliance Filings:
File battery sales reports with Call2Recycle and renew FDA registrations for medical items.
Required Skills & Experience Technical Proficiency:
Experience using VAI (ERP system) and advanced Excel for ledger maintenance and reporting.
Financial Reporting:
Strong understanding of A/R Aging , Chargeback Reports , and Customer Ranking Reports .
Inventory & Audit Knowledge:
Ability to run year-end stock status reports and reconcile year-end accounts for closing.
Collaboration:
Experience participating in monthly meetings with creditors groups (NACM) and H/R resource groups.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
