Overview Angstrom group of companies is a leading tier 1 full-service supplier for Automotive and Industrial OEMs. Angstrom offers a diversified product portfolio with vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities. Angstrom has 30+ manufacturing locations across North America, South America, and Europe. Core manufacturing units process Metals (Casting, Stamping, Forging, Welding, Machining, and Assembly), Resin (Injection Molding, Foam, and Fiber), and Electrical components (Wire Harnesses, Lighting, and assembly modules). This position is with our affiliate company General Aluminum Manufacturing. The Plant Controller is responsible for financials for the Conneaut Plant and provides financial support to other General Aluminum locations. This role is responsible for planning, collecting, and analyzing financial data to determine the cost of business activities and improve operational efficiency. The Plant Controller analyzes actual manufacturing costs, prepares periodic reports comparing standard and actual production costs, and provides management with detailed financial insights. These reports highlight and compare key factors that influence product pricing, cost control, and overall profitability. Duties and responsibilities Responsible for all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities , including the preparation of financial statements. Maintain control of the General Ledger to assure accuracy of transactions and compliance with GAAP requirements . This includes preparing general ledger entries, performing monthly analysis of all balance sheet accounts, and completing all required account reconciliations (e.g., inventory, standard cost, and cost variance). Fixed Assets Accounting , including changes, depreciation schedules, and processing all addition and disposal requests. Conduct detailed variance analysis (e.g., cost, scrap, labor, overhead) and provide clear explanations of significant deviations from plan. Complete in-depth financial and operational analysis of key indicators (e.g., part weights, cycle rates, scrap rates) to uncover opportunities for improvement and support better decision-making. Coordinate Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll GLs such that the company's financial objectives are met. Responsible for preparation of financial forecasts and projections Assist or test ERP improvements. Any other duties as deemed necessary or assigned by Management and Corporate. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting / finance 6-10 yrs prior relevant experience in Manufacturing Accounting and Controlling Strong understanding of
US GAAP ERP
System experience esp. Plex, SAP or similar Good judgment, problem identification and problem-solving abilities Strong communication skills, written and oral Working conditions and environment Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws, polices, and rules. Safety glasses, hearing protection and steel toed shoes when in plant Office Environment - PC, Microsoft office products (Excel, MS Teams), calculator, copier Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by company. Must be regularly available to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Must be available and willing to work such overtime as is necessary or desirable to meet business needs. $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
