Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations for a well-established manufacturing company. Reporting directly to the President, this hands-on leadership role will be responsible for financial reporting, cost accounting, cash flow management, budgeting, internal controls, and continuous process improvement. The Controller will also lead a small team and serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a manufacturing or blue-collar environment and enjoys being actively involved in the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead all accounting and finance functions, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and cost accounting. Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Manage company cash flow, working capital, and overall financial health. Oversee cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, labor allocation, and margin reporting. Partner with Operations to analyze manufacturing costs, production efficiencies, scrap, and profitability. Maintain accurate inventory costing, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and cost models. Oversee physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations. Ensure ERP system accuracy, financial data integrity, and reporting reliability. Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvements. Lead and develop a small team, including Accounting/AP, Inventory, and IT personnel. Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, and Human Resources to support business objectives. Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to the President and executive leadership team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required. CPA is highly preferred. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment is required. Strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing finance. Previous experience managing and developing direct reports. Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting. Thorough understanding of GAAP and internal financial controls. Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. About the
