Job Description
This is a high-impact finance and operations leadership role for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working closely with leadership, supporting day-to-day club operations, and helping strengthen the member and employee experience at one of Northeast Ohio's premier private clubs. The Cleveland Racquet Club in Pepper Pike, Ohio is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to oversee financial operations, accounting, budgeting, reporting, cash management, payroll oversight, and assist in HR administration. This role partners closely with the General Manager and leadership team to support financial accuracy, operational effectiveness, and an exceptional club experience for members, guests, and employees. Key Responsibilities
- Lead accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, banking, tax reporting, and audit support.
- Analyze department performance, revenue activity, vendor agreements, pricing decisions, and capital projects.
- Coordination and oversight of key HR administration functions in partnership with the General Manager including onboarding, personnel record keeping, compensation support and benefits coordination.
- Lead and develop accounting and administrative staff while supporting a collaborative, service-oriented culture. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting, finance, or controller-level experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, internal controls, payroll, and HR administration.
- Experience managing accounting staff and working cross-functionally with department leaders.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Hospitality, private club, hotel, resort, restaurant, or service-industry experience preferred.
- Experience with Jonas, Northstar, club management, hospitality, retail, or point-of-sale systems preferred.
