Position Overview A well-established, privately held manufacturing organization specializing in custom, heavy-duty industrial equipment is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the company's accounting and financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who understands the complexities of a manufacturing environment and can provide strong financial oversight while partnering closely with ownership and operational leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial operations. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and key performance metrics. Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, and reconciliations. Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Provide financial analysis and insight to support operational and strategic decision-making. Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory, job/project profitability, and variances. Partner with operations and leadership to improve financial controls, processes, and profitability. CAT Tax (preparation and filing), intercompany tracking & reconciliation. Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal controls. Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, banking partners, and other financial professionals. Oversee and develop accounting staff, providing leadership, direction, and accountability. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, reporting, and overall efficiency. Support ownership and executive leadership with financial analysis and recommendations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment . Prior Controller or Accounting Manager experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, job costing, and manufacturing financials . Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management. Strong Excel and accounting/ERP system skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both financial and operational teams. Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate strategically while remaining involved in the details. MUST pass a background check and be authorized to work in the U.S. Strong communication skills in English, as communication in this position is critical.
