Job Description

The Arc of Butler County is seeking to fill our Controller position within our finance department. This is a management position working directly to the Chief Financial Officer and accounting team.
Examples of Work Performed:
The controller will be responsible for ensuring the company complies with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards Oversee the operations of the accounting department Responsible for oversight of cash management Responsible for oversight of reporting and payment of all tax liabilities Ensure accounts payable are paid according to agency policies and procedures Ensure accounts receivable are collected according to agency policies and procedures Coordinate with Chief Financial Officer in the review, compilation and issuance of timely and complete financial statements to company leadership and/or board, as appropriate Coordinate with Chief Financial Officer in providing documentation for the preparation of the annual financial and pension plan audits by outside CPA firm Recommend benchmarks to the Chief Financial Officer in which to measure the performance of the accounting department Coordinate with the Chief Financial Officer in the calculation and issuance of financial and operating metrics Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management Provide financial analyses as needed Process and/or review the processing of payroll in a timely manner Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements All other duties as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation Ability to multi-task and establish priorities Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership Possess working knowledge of regulatory bodies relating to payroll, taxes and other regulatory guidance Proficient in MS Office software - Word, Excel Knowledge of accounting and financial accounting system Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies or members of the organization and general community at large. Ability to prepare reports, write business correspondence and assist in the development and update of procedural manuals
