Controller with 10+ years experience

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Controller with over a decade of expertise to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our accounting practices. This dynamic role demands a strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of complex financial concepts, regulatory compliance, and advanced accounting standards. As a key member of our leadership team, you will oversee all financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance functions, driving financial excellence across our organization. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing cash management, and fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. Duties Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Manage all aspects of general ledger accounting, including account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and journal entries using advanced accounting software such as Sage. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including account analysis and financial report writing to provide clear insights for stakeholders. Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and accuracy while maintaining strong vendor relationships. Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure adherence to corporate policies. Collaborate with external auditors during audits; prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation. Experience with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger management Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills . At least 5 years of experience supporting Human Resources functions. Qualifications Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or public accounting roles with a focus on financial management leadership. CPA or CMA designation (or equivalent experience) . Proven expertise in nonprofit accounting, governmental accounting principles, or public sector finance is highly desirable. Strong technical skills with proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms; experience with financial software integration is a plus. Demonstrated ability in cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making. Leadership for Safety and Human Resources responsiblity Skilled in financial report writing that clearly communicates complex data to diverse audiences. Ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Exceptional analytical skills combined with strong attention to detail; sound financial acumen is essential for success in this role.
