CONTROLLER
Washington, PA (Hybrid after training) $125K- $135K We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller. This is a unique opportunity with a clear succession plan to become the CFO within the next 5 years. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting combined with private sector experience. OVERVIEW OF THE CONTROLLER ROLE
Oversee the company's financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements. Manage and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and retention. Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party professionals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance financial reporting accuracy. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements. Prepare and present financial reports, analysis, and insights to senior management and stakeholders. Lead and support financial planning initiatives, including budget preparation, cash flow management, and long-term forecasting. Oversee cost accounting, job costing (if applicable), and project-based financial tracking. Support mergers and acquisitions, as needed, including financial due diligence and integration. Participate in the strategic financial planning that supports the CFO succession plan.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CONTROLLER
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and private industry. Prior experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, or construction industries preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations. Proven experience in managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. EB-6995683643
