Job Description

General Summary Provides day-to-day management and execution of centralized accounting operations for the System and its entities. Oversees the general ledger, close processes, account reconciliations, and journal entry review to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Manages transactional accounting functions ensuring timely processing and adherence to company policies and accounting standards. Maintains strong internal controls, resolves accounting issues, supports external audits, and ensures compliance with GAAP and internal reporting requirements. Works to standardize procedures, improve workflows, and enhance efficiency while actively managing and developing the accounting team.
Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions:
Leads and actively manages the financial close processes for all assigned entities, ensuring deadlines are met. Ensures timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Reviews, approves, and, when necessary, prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed account analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness. Assists with external audits by providing supporting documentation, reconciliations, and explanations as requested. Monitors close calendars, enforces cutoff procedures, and ensures proper accruals and expense recognition. Identifies and resolves accounting issues, variances, and reconciling items in a timely manner. Executes process improvements to standardize accounting activities and eliminate inconsistencies across entities. Identifies, implements, and monitors automation initiatives to streamline accounting processes and reduce manual effort.
Common Expectations:
Provides direct leadership and day-to-day oversight of accounting team, setting clear expectations, monitoring workload distribution, and ensuring timely completion of responsibilities. Coaches and develops team members through regular feedback, technical training, and hands-on support to strengthen accounting knowledge and close process execution. Establishes performance goals aligned with departmental objectives and conducts formal performance evaluations, development planning, and succession planning. Builds and maintains a high-performing, service-oriented team with a strong focus on accuracy, accountability, and responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders. Assesses staffing needs, participates in recruiting and onboarding, and ensures adequate cross-training. Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and collaboration across finance functions.
Qualifications Minimum Education:
Bachelors Degree in
Accounting Required Work Experience:
10 years Accounting and/or finance experience Required 5 years of experience Managing/ supervising team.
Preferred Licenses:
Certified Public Accountant Upon Hire Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Cost finding and analytical skills.
