Restaurant & Pub (Full Liquor License) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Controller to manage all financial operations for a busy restaurant and pub as well as a second sister company with light bookkeeping. This role requires strong accounting skills, deep familiarity with restaurant books, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records in a fast‑paced environment. The Controller will work closely with ownership to support financial planning, reporting, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Manage full‑cycle accounting for restaurant and pub operations Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting Process accounts payable and accounts receivable Process Monthly Sales and Meals Tax payments Manage all Insurance policy renewals and Audits Prepare payroll entries and support payroll processing Reconcile bank, credit card, POS, and merchant accounts Monitor food, beverage, and liquor cost percentages Track inventory adjustments, waste, and cost controls Manage vendor accounts, statements, and payment schedules Prepare monthly P&L statements, balance sheets, and financial summaries Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Ensure compliance with state and federal tax requirements Maintain internal controls and financial accuracy Prepare documentation for CPA, audits, and year‑end filings Work with ownership on financial strategy and operational improvements Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of restaurant accounting experience (required) Strong understanding of restaurant financial workflows and cost controls Proficiency with QuickBooks and restaurant POS systems Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Strong communication skills and professional judgment Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information Work Environment Full‑time role with flexible scheduling Hybrid work model: onsite + remote Supportive ownership and collaborative team
