Assistant Controller

Our client in Alameda is seeking an interim Assistant Controller for a 2+ year engagement. This is a long-term contract position, offering an exciting opportunity to oversee key financial operations and contribute to the success of the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in corporate accounting and financial reporting, as well as a proactive approach to managing complex responsibilities. This 100% remote role is expected to pay $65-$80/hr. DOE experience and location. The ability to work Pacific time is required

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Manage the general ledger and maintain financial data integrity
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with accounting standards
• Handle corporate accounting functions, including payroll management and audit preparation
• Provide leadership and guidance during audits by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
• Utilize Lawson software to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals
• Develop and implement financial controls to safeguard company assets
• Support compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
