The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and operational activities, including cost accounting, financial reporting, and ERP implementation. This role requires a deep understanding of cost structures, financial planning, and process improvements in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong ERP experience and the ability to lead finance teams while ensuring operational efficiency and accurate financial performance.
Key Responsibilities Financial Oversight:
Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles (GAAP). Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial statements. Prepare financial analysis and reports, providing actionable insights to leadership for decision-making.
Cost Accounting:
Manage cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate tracking of costs across production, labor, and overhead. Analyze production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide recommendations for process improvements. Collaborate with operations teams to implement and monitor cost control initiatives.
ERP Implementation and Management:
Lead the implementation and optimization of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Ensure seamless integration between ERP and other financial systems, ensuring accurate real-time data for decision-making. Train and support finance and operations teams in using the ERP system for cost tracking, inventory management, and financial reporting.
Operations Oversight:
Work closely with operations managers to assess operational performance, identify inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actions. Ensure that production processes align with financial goals and operational budgets. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve operational efficiency.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Set clear objectives for the finance team, provide ongoing training, and ensure that the team has the tools needed for success.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and industry-specific requirements. Evaluate internal controls and financial systems to mitigate risks and ensure data accuracy.
Strategic Support:
Provide financial insights to senior leadership to support strategic initiatives, including pricing strategies, new product development, and capital investments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the financial impact of operational decisions and investments. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment. Extensive experience with ERP systems, including implementation and optimization (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics). Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and manufacturing operations. Proven experience leading teams and working in cross-functional, collaborative environments. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to handle complex financial data and provide clear, actionable insights. Advanced proficiency with Excel and financial modeling tools.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma practices. Knowledge of manufacturing-specific financial reporting and operational metrics. Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Work Environment:
