Job Description
Company Overview Willis Family Dentistry is Virginia's largest doctor owned dental group, with 23 locations across the state and roughly $30M in annual revenue. We are not private equity backed. We are doctor owned and doctor led, which means decisions get made by people who actually practice dentistry and care about the outcome. We have grown from a single practice in 2012 to a 23 location group, and we are continuing to expand through de novo openings and partnerships. We are looking for a Controller to own the accounting function as we scale. Job Overview As Controller, you will own day to day accounting operations for a multi entity organization. This is a hands on role with real ownership. You will report to the COO and work alongside a fractional CFO and outside tax advisors. Responsibilities Own the monthly close and deliver it on a predictable calendar Produce a standing monthly reporting package including location level P and L and consolidated results Administer our Sage accounting environment across multiple entities Manage payroll operations and all payroll tax filings, including multi state registrations Own AP, AR, and bank reconciliation Support entity level reporting for two joint venture partnerships Work with our outside CPA firm on tax preparation support and workpapers Build documentation and process so the function does not depend on any one person Skills 5 or more years of accounting experience with at least 2 in a controller or assistant controller role Multi entity accounting experience required Strong general ledger and month end close ownership Payroll and payroll tax filing experience Comfort with mid market accounting systems, Sage experience a strong plus Healthcare, dental, or multi site services experience preferred CPA preferred, not required What Success looks like In your first 90 days, close is running on a predictable calendar and the monthly reporting package goes out without anyone asking for it. In your first year, the accounting function is documented, reliable, and scalable to 30 plus locations Join our team as a Controller to lead financial operations that drive success. We move quickly.
