Controller - Nonprofit Portland, OR | Hybrid | $125,000-$145,000 Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who understands the unique needs of nonprofit finance and enjoys partnering with leadership to support organizational growth and sustainability. Compensation & Benefits $125,000-$145,000 salary Hybrid work schedule Competitive nonprofit benefits package Mission-driven and collaborative environment Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day accounting operations and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes Manage general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and cash management Prepare and present financial statements and reports to senior leadership and the Board Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements Support annual audits, tax filings, and other external reporting Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and procedures Lead and develop the accounting team Qualifications Nonprofit accounting experience is required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Controller or senior-level accounting leadership experience Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting and financial reporting Experience with budgeting, audits, and internal controls Timing is everything.
