Windermere Realty Trust (WRT) is seeking a Controller to join our senior leadership team with real visibility and ownership.This is a high-scope role:
you'll oversee accounting operations across multiple entities, partner with the WRT President and corporate CFO, and help shape how the company grows financially. You'll operate in a fast-moving, high-volume environment alongside a team that takes both quality and culture seriously. Strong people skills are as important as technical chops.WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Financial Leadership Own timely, accurate financial reporting across multiple entities. Lead the annual budget process and monthly/quarterly reviews with senior management. Partner with external CPAs and the corporate CFO on tax compliance and strategy. Accounting Operations Oversee the full accounting cycle — AP/AR, payroll, agent commissions, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, vendor records, 1099 reporting, and local/state tax filings. You'll understand the details of each function, not just manage from a distance. Team & Process Development Lead and develop the accounting team. Build reporting processes that give ownership and leadership clear, useful financial visibility. Contribute to the company's strategic direction as a senior leadership team member.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required:
Accounting degree (CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus) 4+ years of accounting experience at the management level Complete understanding of chart of accounts, general ledger, and account reconciliation Experience with specialized accounting systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities Clear, professional communication — written and verbal — with staff, managers, and outside vendors Nice to have: Experience with Lone Wolf Back Office Experience with multi-entity financial reporting and consolidated statementsWORKING STYLE
This role uses a hybrid model — a mix of in-office and remote work. Building team relationships and contributing to company culture are a priority for us, so we're looking for someone who values being present and engaged.
