Financial Controller - Full-Time / Hybrid Corporate Coffee Systems | Westbury, NY $65-$75/hour | Approximately 32 hours per week About Corporate Coffee Systems Corporate Coffee Systems is a leading provider of workplace coffee, beverage, pantry and refreshment solutions throughout the New York metropolitan area. We work with businesses across a wide range of industries to create and manage workplace refreshment programs tailored to their employees and environments. Behind that service is a fast-moving operation that brings together sales, purchasing, inventory, warehousing, delivery, service and customer care — creating a business with plenty for a strong financial professional to understand, analyze and influence. We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller who wants to be close to the business, work directly with executive leadership and bring both strong accounting skills and a financial perspective to decision-making. The Role Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the Financial Controller will oversee accounting and financial reporting while providing the analysis and insight leadership needs to understand business performance and make informed decisions. This is a hands-on position. We need someone who is equally comfortable managing the details of month-end close and reconciliations as they are analyzing EBITDA, building a budget, reviewing profitability or explaining a financial trend to the CEO. Key Responsibilities Lead the month-end close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports Manage bank and balance-sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals and supporting schedules Maintain fixed asset, depreciation, amortization, loan and equipment schedules Develop annual budgets, forecasts and budget-to-actual reporting Analyze EBITDA, profitability, margins, trends and variances Monitor cash flow and provide financial analysis to support business decisions Maintain strong accounting controls and procedures Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and reporting Develop useful financial reporting and KPIs for executive leadership Provide the President/CEO with clear, practical financial analysis and recommendations Partner with Operations, Sales and other departments to ensure accurate financial information and understand business performance What We're Looking For Prior Controller, Assistant Controller or comparable senior accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation Strong month-end close experience Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis Solid knowledge of fixed assets, depreciation, accruals and balance-sheet accounting Advanced Excel skills are essential Strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in understanding the business behind the numbers Ability to identify issues, investigate discrepancies and recommend solutions Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial executives Experience evaluating and improving accounting processes and systems Comfortable remaining hands-on while also providing higher-level financial analysis CPA preferred, but not required Systems CCS currently uses Metroplex along with Excel-based financial schedules and reporting. Prior Metroplex experience is not required. We are looking for someone who can learn and work effectively within our current environment while also recognizing opportunities to make processes and reporting more efficient. Exceptional Excel skills and the ability to work through complex financial data are important for success in this role.
