Immediately Job Description Serve as the chief financial officer for the Sharon Public Schools. Provides the leadership and oversight of all financial matters to support the District mission and ensure financial stability of the District.

The Superintendent of Schools Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred Massachusetts certification as a School Business Administrator Three year experience as a supervisor in a school environment Knowledge of procurement, including but not limited to Chapter 30B and Chapter 149; MCPPO designation, preferred Familiarity with state and federal grants and grant management; Advanced proficiency in business software including MUNIS, Excel, Google Docs, and emerging technologies and information systems.
Responsibilities:
Directs, supervises and evaluates all aspects of financial services including budget development, research and planning, accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, grant application and management, inventory control, financial reporting, bookkeeping, procurement process and management, interlocal and other contract agreements, real estate and insurance risk management. Supervises and maintains the accounting, financial and budget control system for all school department funds. Administer financial policies, rules, and regulations established by the Federal Department of Education, State of Massachusetts, and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Supervises and prepares as needed for all reports requested by state or federal agencies. Maintains and reports to the Superintendent of Schools, up-to-date budget balances on appropriate line items and special accounts. Disseminates this information with District Administration and Cost Center Managers, as appropriate. Assists the Superintendent of Schools and works with District Administrators to prepare the annual operating and capital budget. Develops budget presentations for necessary Town Boards and facilitates budget approval through the Town Meeting process. Completes statistical and benchmark data analysis, as requested. Develops, updates, and maintains all Financial processes and systems. Establishes procedures to ensure that thorough documentation and training is in place to support District financial office staff and cost center managers, as appropriate. Manages and audits the purchasing process and services for equipment and services bought, leased, or otherwise acquired by the Sharon Public Schools. Ensures that bidding and contractor procurement procedures are handled in compliance with all State laws and regulation. Advises the Superintendent of Schools on all matters relating to the business and financial affairs of the district Collaborates and provides support in collective bargaining negotiations and agreements. Attends any School Committee meetings and other pertinent meetings as requested by the Superintendent of Schools Works cross organizationally with the Assistant Superintendent to support the Director of Human Resources, the Director of Food Services, Transportation Supervisor, and Director of Facilities. Performs such other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools For highly experienced individuals who have recently retired and/or a looking for part time and/or partially remote responsibilities, there is room for discussion to make the position more flexible to fit the candidate's needs while fulfilling the financial oversight responsibilities of the district.
