full-time Plant Controller Brookings, SD (Hybrid, 4 Days Onsite) A well-known consumer food manufacturing company is looking for a Plant Controller to manage the financial health and operational efficiency of one of its production facilities. This role owns cost control, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls, while serving as a key business partner to plant leadership and corporate finance. A strong fit for a finance leader with cost accounting experience in a production environment who wants a role with real strategic influence at the plant level. Highlights Base salary $115K-$135K plus bonus Relocation assistance available Hybrid schedule, 4 days onsite with 1 day remote Direct partnership with plant leadership and corporate finance teams Ownership across cost control, budgeting, reporting, and internal controls Leadership of the plant finance team Responsibilities Lead financial planning, reforecasting, and budgeting processes in alignment with organizational goals Monitor performance against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis on labor, utilities, and fixed and variable costs Produce accurate, timely financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, P&L, and monthly KPI reporting Lead monthly and yearly financial closing activities Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and accounting standards Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors Partner with plant leadership and operations to provide financial insights that inform strategic decisions Support inventory processes and identify opportunities to optimize stock levels and reduce costs Lead, mentor, and develop the plant finance team Requirements Bachelor's degree in a related field required; relevant experience or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, with progressive leadership experience preferred Strong background in cost accounting and financial planning within a production environment; food manufacturing experience preferred In-depth knowledge of financial accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.) Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Excel; Power BI and Power Query a plus Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate data into strategic insights Ability to travel intermittently, approximately 10% A strong opportunity for a finance leader who wants ownership of a plant-level finance function within a well-established, mission-driven organization.
