This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and applicable laws, while serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership. The VP of Finance drives financial strategy, operational efficiency, scalability, and long-term business growth.
Role Responsibilities:
Drive FP&A activities, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, long-range planning, and variance analysis. Deliver actionable financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership to support strategic decision-making. Partner with business leaders to support growth initiatives, pricing strategies, and operational scalability. Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Provide strategic oversight of accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Own and review internal and external financial reporting, including management reporting and statutory filings. Ensure compliance with GAAP (and IFRS where applicable), internal controls, tax regulations, and audit requirements. Lead coordination with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal partners to ensure regulatory and statutory compliance. Oversee tax reporting activities, including income tax support, personal property tax, and sales/use tax. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize financial processes, systems, and controls, including automation and ERP enhancements. Establish, maintain, and enhance financial policies, procedures, and governance frameworks. Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the Finance function.
Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, including leadership responsibility. Strong expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. Demonstrated experience in FP&A, financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic analysis. Proven experience leading audits and working with external auditors and tax advisors. Advanced proficiency with financial systems (ERP platforms) and Excel. Experience in a recurring revenue or technology-driven business preferred. Experience with month-end close, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and tax compliance.
Required Experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable business insights. Excellent communication and executive-level presentation skills. Strong leadership, people management, and coaching capabilities. High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex priorities. Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
Licensing/Certifications:
CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
