Title Director of Finance About the Organization Beaufort Memorial, a not-for-profit hospital founded in 1944 on the banks of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, is licensed for 201 beds (169 acute, 14 rehabilitation and 18 mental health). We are an acute-care hospital, a regional referral center and the largest medical facility between Savannah, Ga., and Charleston, S.C. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, Beaufort Memorial boasts a dedicated, high-quality medical staff of nearly 230 board-certified or board-eligible providers. Position Director of Finance Location Beaufort Memorial Hospital Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Shift Days Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt Description
JOB SUMMARY
Supervises and coordinates the Hospital's payroll, general accounting and ledgers, accounts payable, cost report and operating cash services. Responsible for the annual operating and capital budget process. Responsible for cost report preparation and all independent audits to include third party reimbursement audits. Responsible for the Hospital's annual external financial audit. Completes the Hospital's financial closing and completes the financial statements for the Hospital and all subsidiaries monthly. Direct the accounts payable function to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within financial operations. Ensure accounting compliance with GASB. Handle all aspects of cash flow management, including monitoring the balances of bank and investment accounts, performing cash transfers between accounts Assists the CFO with cash investments and cash analysis. Assists the CFO with financial analysis, board report preparation and other financial processes as requested. Prepares, reviews or coordinates all monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting forms at local, State and Federal level. Prepares, reviews or coordinates all monthly, quarterly and annual bond reporting. Position Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Master's Degree preferred. Or Bachelor's Degree in other related field and 3 years of experience with 1 year of supervisory experience required.
EXPERIENCE
: At least 5 years of hospital accounting experience preferred. One year of supervisory experience preferred.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Technical skills and abilities with accounting and operational software systems (Microsoft Office, Meditech, etc.) Knowledge of GASB Knowledge of non-profit accounting Strong analytical skills
