Job Description

This position is responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, planning, and financial operations of the company. This leader role provides strategic leadership to ensure financial health, profitability, compliance, and long-term growth, while serving as a key advisor to the President and leadership team. Key Responsibilities Financial Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with business objectives Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership and ownership Drive financial decision-making for growth initiatives, fleet acquisitions, and capital investments Monitor financial KPIs, including cost per mile, fuel efficiency, revenue per load, and operational margins Financial Management & Reporting Oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and management reports Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity Establish and maintain internal controls and financial policies Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations Oversee tax planning, filings, audits, and regulatory reporting Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies Operational & Performance Management Analyze financial performance and key metrics to support decision-making Partner with operations and department leaders to improve profitability and efficiency Oversee pricing, cost control, and margin management Leadership & Team Development Serve as a strategic advisor to the President/Owner and executive team Lead and develop the finance and accounting team Establish performance goals and ensure professional development within the department Stakeholder & External Relationships Manage relationships with banks, lenders, auditors, and financial partners Support financing, debt management, and investment activities Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred 8+ years of progressive financial leadership experience Proven experience in financial strategy, budgeting, and reporting Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax, and regulatory requirements Skills & Competencies Strategic thinking and business acumen Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent leadership and communication abilities High level of integrity and confidentiality Ability to work effectively with executive leadership and board members Performance Expectations Achieve financial targets and profitability goals Maintain accurate financial records and reporting Optimize cost structure and cash flow Support operational efficiency and strategic growth initiatives Ensure regulatory compliance across financial and operational areas
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
