POSITION SUMMARY
The Regional Controller oversees revenue recognition and reconciliation, billing, and invoicing for their region. The role acts as a liaison between project management, field operations, and accounting to ensure that projects are tracked, forecasted, and reported in alignment with company standards and profitability goals.
POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Partner with Project Managers to oversee all financial aspects of projects, including revenue recognition, billing, and invoicing for the assigned region.
- Complete month-end close for the assigned region, accurately and without missing deadlines.
- Monitor and report on project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, variances, and expenses.
- Track and manage project costs, accruals, and resource allocations to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain and administer project contracts, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
- Conduct financial analysis to support proposal pricing and strategic decision-making.
- Lead project closeout activities, including review of budgets, balances, unbilled items, and overall project activity.
- Ensure accuracy of cost, billing, and contract value updates through coordination with transaction processing and project controls teams.
- Serve as the primary accounting liaison to project operations, providing insight into financial performance, risks, and objectives.
- Prepare and support monthly project reporting and financial reviews, ensuring risks and issues are identified and addressed.
- Contribute to process improvements across project accounting, controls, and reporting functions.
- Ensure that tasks are completed according to SOX requirements and all needed tasks are documented.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field or equivalent knowledge or skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience.
- 7+ years of accounting experience in the electrical construction field ( in addition to the educational equivalency).
- Strong experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
