This role is responsible for delivering accurate reporting, strengthening controls, and providing financial insight that supports operational and strategic decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of cost accounting, close management, and compliance, along with the leadership skills to guide a high-performing accounting team.
Responsibilities:
Direct general ledger management and financial reporting activities across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles while identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve consistency. Manage manufacturing cost accounting activities, including standard cost maintenance, variance review, and cost structure accuracy. Collaborate with plant and operations leaders to evaluate production performance, profitability, and key cost trends. Lead inventory accounting practices by maintaining valuation accuracy, supporting physical counts, and strengthening cycle count controls. Review bills of materials, routing data, and labor assumptions to ensure financial records reflect current operating conditions. Evaluate capital spending proposals through financial analysis, including return and payback considerations, and monitor fixed asset activity and depreciation. Maintain a strong internal control framework, support audit preparedness, and uphold compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Guide budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning efforts while monitoring working capital performance across receivables, inventory, and cash flow. Supervise and develop the accounting team through hiring, coaching, performance management, and ongoing process improvement initiatives. 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or controllership responsibilities. Strong background in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and period-end close management. Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing setting, including standard costing and variance analysis. Knowledge of inventory accounting, fixed assets, internal controls, and compliance requirements. Ability to analyze operational and financial data to support business decisions and performance improvement. Proven leadership experience with team oversight, employee development, and cross-functional collaboration. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
