Job Description

About Us San Jacinto Christian Academy is a Christ-centered Pre-K through 12th grade Christian school committed to academic excellence, biblical truth, and developing students to know and love Jesus Christ. We are seeking a mission-minded Controller who will help steward the Academy's financial resources with integrity, professionalism, and strong organizational leadership. Position Summary The Controller serves as a key member of the administrative team and is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Academy, including budgeting, reporting, payroll support, benefits administration, tuition management, and financial compliance. This position works closely with the Superintendent, Board Finance Committee, Business Office, and Development Department. Primary Responsibilities Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and general ledger management Prepare monthly financial reports for administration and Board committees Assist with payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee contracts Monitor expenditures and support budget accountability Manage tuition accounts receivable, payment plans, and collections Assist with annual audit preparation and financial compliance Support grant tracking, donor reporting, and development operations Maintain financial policies, internal controls, and reporting procedures Supervise Business Office operations and support staff Collaborate with school leadership on strategic financial planning Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required Experience in accounting, financial management, or business operations required Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Experience with budgeting, payroll systems, and financial reporting School, nonprofit, or ministry financial experience preferred Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Faith Requirements Candidates must: Be a committed Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ Be actively involved in a Bible-believing church Support the mission, philosophy, and doctrinal beliefs of San Jacinto Christian Academy Why Join SJCA?
