Oversees the functions and processes associated with the accumulation, valuation, and presentation of information related to the institution's economic performance. Manages and coordinates fiscal operations. Consults and advises administrative officers regarding opportunities and methods for generating revenues and controlling costs in relation to the mission and long-term strategy of the organization. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting or business administration, with a major in accounting. Certification by the State Board as a Certified Public Accountant and/or a Master's Degree in Business Administration preferred. (Potential for experience to compensate for some education.)
Experience:
Minimum of three years' experience in a hospital setting. Must be capable of directing, planning, and controlling the accounting and financial activities of the hospital and clinics. In relation to this, must have the analytic aptitude necessary to investigate and solve problems and develop accounting systems to accurately control all financial transactions and activities within the hospital.
ESSENTIAL STRENGTHS
Must be detail oriented. Must be able to create and interpret a financial statement, understand cash planning. Supervisory experience desired-management of business office staff, as well as managing vendor relations. Cost report support. Working with grant filings, applications, support-to include supplemental Medicaid Program applications. Revenue Cycle Management considered a "++".
