full-time Tarvos Talent is seeking an experienced Controller to take full ownership of the accounting function for a fast-growing, multi-entity organization in Austin. This is an opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and can bring structure and efficiency to a growing organization. The ideal candidate has significant Controller experience, strong month-end close ownership, and a track record of cleaning up accounting operations while building scalable processes that support the business. What You'll Do Own the full accounting function across 34+ entities, including month-end close, consolidations, and intercompany activity Lead and improve the month-end close process, with a goal of reducing the current 20-day close to 10-15 days Oversee AP, AR, GL, and accounting operations while empowering and developing the existing team Identify and resolve accounting cleanup issues while balancing compliance, accuracy, and operational priorities Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and flux reporting Own the month-end close calendar and ensure timely, accurate reporting Support board reporting and preparation of board packages Build and improve accounting processes, controls, and systems as the organization scales Partner closely with operations and leadership to ensure accounting processes support-not hinder-the business Help prepare the organization for continued growth, acquisitions, and increased complexity What We're Looking For 10+ years of progressive accounting experience 3-5+ years of Controller-level experience, preferably in an established Controller role 5+ years owning month-end close Strong experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidations Proven experience cleaning up complex or disorganized accounting environments Experience with multiple ERP systems; QuickBooks-only experience will not be considered Advanced Excel skills Strong leadership, communication, and team development abilities Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment Experience in manufacturing or another highly regulated industry such as energy, food, government contracting, or industrial products Private equity experience is a plus Please reach out to esteiner@tarvostalent.com or call 737-220-1192 for immediate and confidential consideration.
