CONTROLLER MUST BE LOCATED IN THE DFW AREA OVERVIEW
Responsible for overseeing accounting and financial operations, including reporting, budgeting and forecasting, risk management, and team management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparesfinancial reports and presents findings and recommendations to top management. Protectsoperations by keeping financial information and plans confidential. Guides financial decisions byestablishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Protects assets byestablishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. Monitors andconfirmsfinancial condition by conducting audits, providing information to external auditors. Prepares budgets byestablishingschedules; collecting, analyzing, andconsolidatingfinancial data; recommending plans. Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiatingcorrective actions. Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Complieswithfederal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislationanticipatingfuture legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports;advisingmanagement on needed actions. Maintains financial staff by recruiting,electing, orienting, and training employees. Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;establishingpersonal networks;participatingin professional societies. Manages state sales tax audits. Coordinates monthly filings, research sales tax issues, and ensures entry ofaccuratemonthly journal entries. Performs filings for various state licenses and annual reports. Credit card administrator for merchant services. Contributesto team effort byaccomplishingrelated results as needed. Acts as a role model for other employees.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business. 3-5 or more years of related manufacturing Controller experience. 2+ years of managerial experience Comprehensive knowledge of the overall Accounting departmental functions. Solid oral and written business communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Excellent organizational and work prioritization skills Desire for growth and advancement Good oral and written business communication skills.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Up to 10% travel may be required
