Job Description:
AXIA | Full-Time | In Office | Lehi, Utah Managing Director of Finance The Managing Director of Finance will lead Axia's accounting, fund reporting, and financial planning across a diversified real estate investment platform. This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, investment-level reporting, budgeting, fund and property accounting while supporting the executive leadership team in capital allocation, operational performance, and long-term growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in real estate investment management and the ability to ensure the financial health of a fast-paced and entrepreneurial organization. Responsibilities Financial Reporting
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial reporting compliant with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards including fair value evaluations, financial statements, and related disclosures.
  • Manage and review offering capitalization tables, investor statements, waterfall calculations, and governing fund documentation to ensure proper allocation management, fee accruals, and reporting integrity.
  • Lead audit coordination efforts across multiple funds and investment vehicles to ensure timely and accurate delivery of audited financial statements.
  • Manage investment-level quarterly tax filings and support entity-level tax return coordination.
  • Remain current on changes in GAAP and emerging accounting guidance and implement new pronouncements where applicable.
  • Monitor interest changes and debt obligations across the portfolio. Budgeting
  • Maintain accurate financial forecasts, operating models, and cash flow projections across funds, properties, and operating entities.
  • Lead annual budgeting processes, including departmental budgets, property-level forecasts, capital expenditure planning, and consolidated reporting. Operations & Systems
  • Drive continual process improvement initiatives through the implementation and optimization of technology systems and financial controls.
  • Create and maintain internal reporting packages, dashboards, and ad hoc financial analyses for executive leadership and investors. People Management
  • Liaise with tax professionals, auditors, administrators, lenders, and legal counsel to support timely reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and mentor all finance and accounting personnel, with a focus on improving technical development, accountability, and operational excellence. Requirements Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, or
CFA - CPA
designation is preferred Experience
  • 5-10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience
  • Experience within commercial real estate, alternative investments, private equity, or investment management environments preferred
  • 5+ years in senior leadership or executive finance roles preferred
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting for investment companies, including ASC Topic 946, fair value measurement (ASC Topic 820), and consolidation principles (ASC Topic 810), where applicable
  • Experience managing or reviewing investor allocations, incentive fees, carried interest calculations, and investment-level reporting
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Yardi, and Microsoft Power BI What We Offer
