Job Description

SBS is a National Information Technology Services company that provides infrastructure design, integration, and operation services in both commercial and Federal customer. We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller in Chantilly, VA. This role will report to the Sr. Controller and have the ability for upward career advancement. This individual will have a broad range of responsibilities and is expected to play a key role in automating and improving processes utilizing AI and other technical programs within the Finance team. The opportunity is a mix of both government and commercial customers; attention to detail is a key attribute. This role will be predominately onsite at our Headquarters in Chantilly, VA.
Experience and Education:
Ideally seeking candidates with 3—5 years' of accounting/finance experience Well versed in Office products and comfortable working with financial systems (QuickBooks/BillQuick/preferable but not required). Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent working experience in lieu of degree US Citizenship required Nice to have: Knowledge of DFARS and DCAA compliance standards Existing DoD clearance or willingness to receive clearance Federal contracting experience
Responsibilities:
Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company's financial status. Produces and manages balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses. Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization. Assists with preparations for federal and commercial audits. Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances. Ensures compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations. Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports. Coordinates with and prepares reports for line managers and upper management. Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
