Controller

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Midlothian, Virginia. This role requires a strategic thinker who can also manage hands-on tasks while overseeing key financial operations. Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable and entry level accounting staff.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Handle cost accounting processes to support business decisions and improve profitability.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with sales tax regulations and filings.
• Provide strategic financial insights to guide organizational planning and decision-making.
• Supervise the compilation, scanning, and documentation of critical financial records.
• Maintain a strong system of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
• Train and mentor accounting staff to enhance their growth and performance.
• Address and resolve complex accounting issues in a timely manner.
