Job Description
Job DescriptionJob Description The Regional Controller will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness and compliance of monthly financial reporting, while providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. This leadership position requires a strong technical accountant who can also effectively manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will have direct reports.Essential Functions:
Help lead the monthly and annual close processes Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations including intercompany accounts Analyze and review general ledger accounts, including the P&L and Balance Sheet Prepare and review recurring and adjusting journal entries, subledger adjustments and maintain adequate supporting schedules and documentation Oversee the revenue recognition process and results for certain regions, large customers and/or areas of the business Prepare and/or review monthly allocations for fuel, depreciation, and overhead to our customer projects Contribute to continual process improvement opportunities and implementations Supervise, mentor, and develop your direct reports on the accounting team Collaborate with other departments (Operations, Contracts, HR, etc.) on financial and accounting matters Assist with implementing strong internal controls and accounting policies Coordinate with external auditors during our annual audits Lead special accounting projects as needed Perform other duties as assignedCompetencies:
Deep knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment while maintaining accuracy and timeliness with tasks and assignments Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills High attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture Experience with process improvements and system implementation projects is highly desirable Able to work independently and with a team Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel NetSuite or similar ERP system preferred but not requiredWork Environment:
Office and on-site workTravel Requirements:
Regular travel not required Required education and experience: Six plus years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a mid-sized or growing company Experience managing junior team members Private-equity backed experience preferred but not required Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required Preferred education and experience: CPA license preferred but not required Position requires employee to be able to pass a background check and drug screen as required for this job.Work authorization requirements:
