full-time ProspectBlue is hiring a Controller for a well-established company in Richmond, VA! Must have your CPA!! A well-established company in the Petersburg, VA area is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role for a CPA who thrives in a fast-paced, transaction-heavy environment. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Manage month-end and year-end close processes Ensure compliance with industry accounting standards and manufacturer reporting requirements Develop and monitor internal controls Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy Supervise and mentor accounting staff Manage relationships with external auditors, tax preparers, and financial institutions Analyze departmental profitability and provide actionable insights to management Qualifications CPA required 5+ years of accounting experience, with prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience preferred Automotive retail accounting experience strongly preferred (familiarity with DMS systems a plus) Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Excellent leadership and communication skills High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
