As a one-physician practice with annual revenues under $5 million, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to oversee all financial and accounting operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented financial professional who enjoys working in a healthcare environment and being a key strategic partner to practice leadership. Position Summary The Controller will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the practice, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll oversight, cash management, compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a small business environment where flexibility and initiative are valued. This is a full-time, on-site position in Seattle, Washington. Remote or hybrid work is not available. Responsibilities Manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Monitor revenue cycle performance and financial trends Coordinate payroll processing and benefits administration Ensure compliance with federal, state, and healthcare-related financial regulations Work with outside CPA firms, tax preparers, and auditors as needed Develop and maintain internal financial controls and office procedures Provide financial analysis and recommendations to practice ownership Support operational decision-making through accurate reporting and financial insight Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required CPA not required Minimum 5 years of accounting or financial management experience Prior experience in a medical practice or healthcare environment strongly preferred Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting Experience with payroll systems and accounting software Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality Strong communication and problem-solving skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Paid time off Medical and Dental insurance benefits Stable full-time employment in a professional healthcare setting Location Bellevue, Washington This position is fully on-site.
