About the Role The Controller serves as a key financial leader within the organization, overseeing core accounting functions and supporting the financial strategy of the district. This role is a member of senior leadership to ensure sound financial practices, regulatory compliance, and operational success. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage financial operations, including accounts payable, payroll support, and cash flow management Oversee invoice processing, coding, and general ledger journal entries Collaborate with executive leadership on budgeting, financial reporting, and strategic planning Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and support audit processes Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure organizational stability Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and growth Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and state regulations Support oversight and coordination with outsourced Revenue Cycle Management vendors Qualifications Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field preferred 3-5 years of recent accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting or Critical Access Hospital 4+ years of leadership experience, including team supervision and project management Strong background in budgeting, financial analysis, auditing, and forecasting Experience working with Revenue Cycle Management vendors preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with healthcare systems such as EPIC is a plus Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and financial best practices Life on the Long Beach Peninsula Located in the beautiful southwest corner of Washington State, Long Beach Peninsula offers a unique blend of coastal living and small-town charm.
