The Vice President of Instruction (VPI) provides visionary and conscientious academic leadership to advance the college's mission and institutional goals in the area of instruction. The VPI will provide innovative and collaborative management and administration of student learning within all instructional divisions and departments at the college to meet our diverse student population and community. In this role, the VPI will have the opportunity to develop and administer instructional policies and procedures for all College academic and workforce education programs. Primary responsibilities include planning, implementing, coordinating, and assessing instructional programs to ensure the educational needs of students and the community are satisfied and that the instructional mission and goals of the College are realized. The VPI will remain equally committed to providing leadership, advocacy, and oversight across all instructional areas which include the Deans, Assistant Deans, and Directors in the following areas: Arts and Sciences, Transitional Studies, High School Programs, Workforce Transfer and Trades, Corrections Education, Nursing and Allied Health, Academic Success Center, Continuing and Community Education, Center for Teaching and Learning, Library, and the Water and Environmental Center.Essential Functions:
The Vice President of Instruction supports the college mission, vision, strategic direction and guiding principles in all instructional areas. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities Provide leadership for the Instruction division and collaborate with the president's executive leadership team in support of the College's vision, mission, guiding principles, and strategic plan. Support the mission of the college in all instructional areas; collaboratively develop and oversee implementation of divisional goals and planning processes for each instructional area. Promote connection and belonging throughout the operations of the entire college but especially within the instructional unit. Engage actively in leading or promoting various college initiatives that increase student or institutional success such as Guided Pathways, Title III, etc. Foster collaborative partnerships with full-time and part-time faculty in a unionized environment. Lead the instructional division but with a systems-approach to ensure that the entire institution functions at the highest possible level of excellence. Manages professional and paraprofessional staff. Budget/Fiscal Scope Participate in strategic and inclusive decision making that is open and transparent regarding fiscal priorities. Oversee the creation of resourceful, student-centered and fiscally responsible multi-level budgets and spending for the instructional unit. Maintain reasonable strategic and innovative direction during fiscal challenges that includes working collaboratively to establish short- and long-term sustainable financial strategies and goals.

Required Qualifications:
Any combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the applicant with the knowledge and skills to perform the job may be considered by the college. Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Three (3) or more years of full-time faculty post-secondary experience. Three (3) or more years of post-secondary instructional administrative leadership experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university. Demonstrated instruction experience at a community college. Demonstrated experience working in a unionized environment. Demonstrated administrative leadership at a community college. Bilingual English/Spanish.Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Required:
Work setting is primarily indoors with standard office equipment and no expected exposure to hazards. Out of town travel required; regular visits to other College campuses. Compensation:
Annual salary range for initial placement based on the non-represented exempt salary schedule is NR21, Placement range: $154,819- 175,163, with scheduled salary increment increases every 12 months until you reach the top of the scale.
