03/31/2026 Our client is an organization in the Greater Milwaukee area looking for a Controller . This company is looking for someone with 3+ years of accounting experience, construction experience, and highly organized and detailed-oriented. The salary range for this position is $90k-130k +bonus. The Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Close Process Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP Analyze financial results and provide insights to leadership on key trends and variances Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts Accounting Operations Manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting estimates Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled and properly supported Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation Internal Controls & Compliance Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies Coordinate and lead external audits and prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation Support regulatory and tax filings in collaboration with external advisors Budgeting & Financial Planning Support Assist with the development of annual budgets and forecasts Monitor actual performance against budget and explain variances Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making Team Leadership Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff Assign responsibilities and review work to ensure accuracy and efficiency The Controller will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field required 3+ years of accounting experience Construction industry experience required. Detail-oriented and highly organized Strong analytical problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Equal Opportunity Employer The compensation philosophy reflects the Company's reasonable expectation at the time of posting.
